GIS information
encompasses practically every aspect of daily life. As more of our
world is modeled with GIS, the amount of information compiled grows
exponentially. Consequently, it is important that GIS data is properly
organized to allow people to efficiently make use of this information.
Pueblo
County's numerous GIS data layers are organized thematically, based
upon guidelines from the Federal Geographic Data Committee and modified
slightly to meet Pueblo County's needs.
Environmental
GIS layers contain information about the plants, animals, soils
and non man-made elements that exist in our landscape. Most utilized
layers in this category are soils, optimal crop soil zones, conservation
easements and wildlife habitat zones.
